We are delighted to announce that this year’s Annual Piping and Drumming Summer School will take place from 4th to 6th August. Summer School Format: Morning Sessions (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM): These sessions are ideal for: - Beginners - Students and the Local Community interested in trying piping or drumming for the first time - Current learners at beginner or intermediate level Those working on the practice chanter, sticking pad, bagpipe transition, or tenor drum Afternoon Sessions (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM): These are for all Band I and Band II members and will focus on ensemble work and preparation for upcoming performances, including the World Pipe Band Championships in August. Costs: Morning Sessions:£63 Afternoon Only (Band 1 & 2 members): £118 Please complete the short survey linked below by Thursday, 27th June, to help us gauge numbers: forms.office.com/e/i3mDDkKTNA Payments will be collected via ParentPay in the lead-up to the Summer School. This is a fantastic opportunity for any new pupils starting in August — or anyone interested in giving piping or drumming a try — to join the Morning "Come and Try" sessions. Inverclyde Music Festival
It was celebration time recently at our AGM, as we acknowledged the achievements of some of the many wonderful young musicians who performed at IMF earlier this year! 🎉Samuel Sheridan, winner of three major awards, was presented with the Ronnie Mackay Quaich and Scholarship.Emre Gider, electric guitarist, also won the Ronnie Mackay Quaich and Scholarship.Meanwhile, percussionist Emily Hathaway - who was also a finalist in the recent Scottish Young Musicians competition - won the Lorna Morrison Quaich.Congratulations to you all! 👏 British and International Federation of Festivals GREENOCK 𝔗𝔢𝔩𝔢𝔤𝔯𝔞𝔭𝔥 Scottish Young Musicians ...
